Ben Reilly is back!He can die, move to another city, disappear for years, but he always comes back. But who is Benjamin Reilly? His story can be a bit tricky because it deals with clones, fake deaths, mistaken identities and more. Created by Gerry Conway in 1975 and first appeared inThe Amazing Spider-Man#149…and is immediately killed. But he returned years later during the (in)famous "Clone Saga" storyline (see reading order) as "Scarlet Spider", an ally of Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Together they fought Jackal and Kaine, the first failed Spider-Man clone, but also another Spider-Man clone that became the villain Spidercide, and more.

After some confusion over the identity of the real Peter Parker and other complicated twists, Peter left his superhero life and Ben Reilly became the official Spider-Man. Until his death. After this, he only appeared in occasional flashbacks. He then came back to life in 2010 duringthe clone conspiracy(see reading order). Once again things fell hard for Ben, but this time he stayed alive, although we didn't see him again for long after that.

With the new Spider-Man Beyond story (starting with The Amazing Spider-Man #75), Ben Reilly returns as Spider-Man!
